Remember when you were a kid and you used to love dressing up as your favorite Disney character? Mine was always Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I still catch myself wanting to put a little princess into my everyday life. So, in honor of the new Beauty and the Beast movie, I set out on a task to put together an outfit that would be perfect for any modern day Belle!
For the new movie remake, Emma Watson decided not to wear a corset for this iconic role, because of how active Belle is. This is why I chose to wear an oversized sweater in Belle’s signature color; yellow. The wide silhouette connects to Belle’s strong individual and independent spirit, allowing her to do any activity she wishes. The ruffles on the sleeves give it more of a feminine and girly look.
When recreating this look, pair any yellow top with bright blue denim jeans, to connect to the blue dress she wears in the beginning of the movie. I chose to wear jeans instead of a skirt because it modernizes the character and allows for more movement. I paired my look with a necklace which says “Too many books, so little time” because Belle is an avid bookworm, just like me. Finish the look off with any plain black booties because they are practical, but sophisticated.
Necklace: Similar
Booties: Zara (similar)
